What You Need for a Bingo Night
A bingo night needs more than bingo cards and prizes. You will need enough cards and markers for every player, plus reserve supplies, presentation equipment, serving items and drinks for the breaks. Set aside equipment for calling the numbers clearly, including spare batteries and extension cords. Buy or collect prizes early, then check quantities against your registrations before shopping.

Tips
- Prepare one bingo card and one marker for each registered player, plus at least 10% extra cards and markers for late arrivals, damaged cards or missing supplies.
- Plan prizes for every winning round before you shop. Keep them together with a clearly marked prize table sign so volunteers can hand them out without interrupting the game.
- For a two-hour evening, allow two to three drinks per person in the first hour and one to two more afterward. Add coffee, tea and water, and chill drinks before guests arrive.
- Bring at least two spare batteries for each battery-powered bingo device or microphone. Test the speaker, microphone, laptop, extension cords and power strips together before setup starts.
- Set out one pen and one score pad per table, not just per player. Put reserve bingo cards and markers at the registration desk so replacements are easy to find.
Frequently asked questions
- How many bingo cards do I need per person?
- Prepare one card for each player and add at least 10% extra. For 40 players, that means 44 cards, with additional markers available for replacements.
- How many prizes do I need for a bingo night?
- Buy one prize for every planned winning round, plus two spare prizes in case of a tie or a damaged item. Count the rounds before ordering anything.
- How much food and drink should I buy for bingo night?
- For drinks, allow two to three per person during the first hour and one to two more for the rest of the evening. For snacks, plan roughly 150 to 200 grams per person if there is no full meal.
- When should I buy bingo night supplies?
- Order prizes and reserve bingo equipment at least two weeks ahead. Do the final shopping three to five days before the event, then check registrations and dietary requirements again the day before.
