What you need for a resilience training session
A resilience training session needs more than a room and a trainer. You will need enough protective equipment for practical exercises, clear presentation and timing tools, plus coffee, water and serving supplies for the breaks. Check quantities against your group size before buying: shared equipment such as mats, gloves and resistance bands can create bottlenecks when too few participants can practise at once. Arrange delivery or transport early, especially for bulky crash mats, tables and chairs.

Tips
- Plan equipment around the largest exercise group, not the total attendance. If 20 people practise in pairs, prepare at least 10 usable stations or pairs of equipment so participants are not waiting throughout the exercise.
- Count protective and shared sports equipment separately. Training mats and crash mats cover the floor, while boxing gloves, resistance bands, cones, skipping ropes, practice sticks and balance pads may need cleaning or checking between groups.
- Bring presentation and timing equipment together in one transport box. Test the laptop, projector, projection screen, extension cords and power strips before the training day, and pack a stopwatch and whistles where the coaches can reach them.
- For a half-day session, allow roughly two to three drinks per person during the first hour, then about one drink per person per hour. Match coffee cups, reusable cups, plates and cutlery to the registered group, with a small spare supply for trainers and late additions.
- Do not leave catering setup until participants arrive. Pack serving bowls, serving spoons, cutting boards and bread knives with the food, and confirm dietary requirements before ordering so suitable options are available from the start of the break.
Frequently asked questions
- What equipment do I need for resilience training?
- For a practical session, prepare training mats, crash mats, boxing gloves, resistance bands, cones, skipping ropes, practice sticks and balance pads. Add a stopwatch and whistles for timing and drills, and check the final quantities against the number of participants and exercise groups.
- How many training mats do I need for a resilience training session?
- Use enough mats to cover every active practice area, with no participant forced onto bare flooring. Measure the room first and allow extra space around crash mats and between stations; for paired exercises, plan at least one clearly marked station per pair.
- What should I bring for coffee and lunch at resilience training?
- Bring a coffee maker, kettles, thermos flasks, coolers and drinks, along with reusable cups, coffee cups, plates and cutlery sets. Add serving bowls, serving spoons, cutting boards and bread knives, and order food only after collecting dietary requirements.
- When should I check the projector and training equipment?
- Check the laptop, projector, projection screen, extension cords and power strips at least one working day before the session. Test the actual presentation and power setup, then pack a complete working set before transporting materials to the venue.
