Dried Flower Workshop Checklist

Use this checklist to organise a dried flower workshop from the first invitation to the final participant pack. Start by confirming the venue, registrations, dietary requirements and flower delivery. A few days before the session, check the flowers, prepare worksheets and sort materials by type. On the day, allow time for workstations, the flower display, drinks and a safety check before participants arrive.

Tips

  • Confirm the flower delivery at least 3–5 days before the workshop, then inspect the dried flowers as soon as they arrive. Remove damaged stems and check that you have the planned mix, including eucalyptus, pampas grass, lagurus and baby’s breath.
  • Prepare one participant pack per registration, plus 2–3 spare packs. Include the worksheet, florist wire, floral tape, twine, ribbon and any wrapping materials before the room setup begins.
  • Set up one workstation for every participant at least 45 minutes before opening. Put flower scissors, pruning shears, wire cutters, glue guns and rulers where they can be reached without crossing other work areas.
  • Sort flowers by type before the workshop rather than during the explanation. Keep delicate stems separate from heavier materials such as ruscus and ranunculus so participants can choose quickly.
  • Chill drinks and prepare the coffee and tea station 20–30 minutes before guests arrive. Keep the drinks table away from glue guns, scissors and the flower display to reduce spills and clutter.

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I plan a dried flower workshop?
Start planning 4–6 weeks ahead if participants need to register. Confirm the venue and flower delivery early, then finish materials and participant packs 2–3 days before the workshop.
How long does it take to set up a dried flower workshop?
Allow at least 60 minutes for the full setup, including tables, chairs, workstations, the flower display and drinks table. Add another 15 minutes if the flowers still need sorting or the participant packs are not assembled.
How many dried flowers do I need per workshop participant?
Prepare enough stems for one finished arrangement plus 20–25% extra for breakage, trimming and personal choices. For 12 participants, that means planning materials for approximately 14–15 arrangements.
What should I prepare on the day of a dried flower workshop?
Complete the room setup, safety check, flower display and registration area before participants arrive. Have the worksheets and tools ready at least 30 minutes beforehand, and keep 2–3 spare participant packs available.
