Tips

Plan on 12–15 dried stems per participant, using a mix of focal flowers, filler and grasses. Buy an extra 10% because brittle stems can break while cutting or arranging.
Provide one pair of flower scissors per two participants, plus at least one pair of pruning shears and wire cutters for shared use. Check blades and batteries for glue guns the day before.
Allow 2–3 pieces of florist wire, a similar length of floral tape, and 1 metre of twine or ribbon per participant. Pre-cutting some materials saves time during the workshop.
Prepare one vase, gift bag and sheet of wrapping paper per participant if everyone is taking an arrangement home. Keep 10% extra packaging for torn paper or larger designs.
Buy 2–3 drinks per person for the first hour, then add coffee and tea supplies for the full session. Set out one drinking glass and coffee cup per attendee, plus 10% spare tableware.
