What you need for a time management training session
A time management training session needs more than a laptop and presentation. Youβll need a workable room setup, reliable connection and charging equipment, printed worksheets, name badges and enough catering for the breaks. Plan tableware separately from groceries, especially when coffee is served more than once. This checklist helps you buy or bring the practical items that are easy to overlook before participants arrive.

Tips
- Plan one chair per participant, plus a few spare seats if the room allows. Set up tables so every person has a clear writing surface for worksheets and exercises.
- Bring the laptop, projector, screen, HDMI cable and the correct HDMI adapter together in one equipment box. Test the full connection before the training starts, not when participants are waiting.
- Pack at least one charging cable for each device that must run during the session, along with extension cords and power strips. Keep cables where they cannot become a trip hazard.
- For a full training day, allow two to three drinks per person during the first hour and about one drink per person for each following hour. Chill drinks before opening the venue and keep extra supplies separate from the serving area.
- Prepare one worksheet set and one name badge per registered participant, plus 10% spare copies. Check dietary requirements before ordering groceries or catering, rather than trying to adjust the order on the day.
Frequently asked questions
- What do I need to bring to time management training?
- Bring the laptop, projector, projection screen, HDMI cable, HDMI adapter, clicker, charging cables and presentation materials. You also need one worksheet set and one name badge per participant, with 10% extra copies recommended.
- How much coffee and water should I buy for a training day?
- Plan two to three drinks per person for the first hour, then about one drink per person for each additional hour. Add extra coffee, drinking glasses and water if the session includes more than one break.
- How many worksheets and name badges do I need?
- Prepare one complete worksheet set and one name badge for every registered participant. Print or pack 10% extra, so a group of 20 needs 22 copies and badges.
- When should I check the training equipment?
- Check the equipment at least one day before the session and test the complete presentation setup at the venue before participants arrive. Charge the laptop, clicker, microphone and speaker overnight if they use batteries.
