Prepare one team set for every team, with a clipboard, ballpoint pen, team stickers, photo assignments, route maps, score sheets, and a waterproof envelope. Add one smartphone and power bank per team if participants are not bringing their own.
Print route maps, photo assignments, and score sheets at least one day before the event. Print 10% extra copies, or at least two spare sets, in case pages are lost, damaged, or assigned incorrectly.
Charge every smartphone and power bank fully on the day before the hunt, then pack the correct charging cables with them. Keep at least one spare cable for each common phone connection used by the group.
Use cones and ribbons to mark the start and finish clearly, especially if the route returns after dark. Take LED lamps and flashlights when the hunt can run into the evening, and test the lighting before participants arrive.
