Flower market shopping list
A flower market needs more than flowers and tables. You will need containers to keep stems upright, clear stall labels, payment equipment, refreshments and enough power for the information desk and coffee point. The shopping list below covers the equipment and supplies for setting up stalls, receiving deliveries, serving drinks and directing visitors. Check quantities against the number of exhibitors and expected visitors before buying or borrowing anything.

Tips
- Plan at least one flower bucket for each separate flower display, plus a few spare buckets for deliveries that arrive early or need sorting. Fill them shortly before opening so flowers are not standing in empty containers.
- Allow one market stall or table per exhibitor, then add one separate folding table for the information desk. Keep storage boxes and transport carts available so spare materials and packaging do not end up in public walkways.
- Count reusable cups, glasses, plates and spoons for the busiest serving period rather than the whole day. A coffee point serving 40 people in one rush needs more accessible tableware than the same 40 visitors spread across two hours.
- Test card machines, cash registers, change boxes, extension cords and power strips before setup day. Charge card machines the night before and prepare small-denomination change before exhibitors begin selling.
- Buy or prepare route signs and flower labels at least two days before the market. Weather can damage paper signs, so use chalkboards or protected labels and keep a dry set of replacements in a storage box.
Frequently asked questions
- What do I need for a flower market stall?
- Plan one market stall or table, a tablecloth, flower buckets or plant trays, flower labels and a storage box for each exhibitor. Add chairs only where exhibitors need to sit, and provide transport carts or hand trucks for unloading.
- How many flower buckets do I need for a flower market?
- Start with one bucket for each distinct flower display and add roughly 10% spare capacity for late deliveries, damaged containers or sorting. For 20 displays, that means at least 22 buckets.
- How much coffee equipment is needed for a flower market?
- Provide enough coffee machines or kettles for the expected rush, plus coolers for cold drinks and reusable cups and glasses. Test every extension cord and power strip at least one day before setup, and keep the coffee point separate from the payment desk.
- When should I buy supplies for a flower market?
- Buy or reserve non-perishable equipment, tableware, signs and decorations at least one week in advance. Check flowers, drinks and other perishable items two to three days before opening, then confirm delivery and weather-related needs the day before.
