What you need for a communication training
A communication training needs more than chairs and a presentation screen. Youβll need a clear registration setup, printed worksheets, name badges, practice materials and reliable equipment for exercises such as active listening. This shopping list also covers coffee, tea, chilled drinks, catering supplies and serving items. Check dietary requirements before ordering food, and test the laptop, projector, cables and microphone at least one day before the session.

Tips
- Plan coffee, tea and water for the arrival period as well as the breaks. For a half-day session, allow around 2β3 cups of coffee or tea and at least 500 ml of water per participant.
- Print one worksheet pack and one name badge per participant, plus 10% extra. For 20 attendees, prepare 22 copies and 22 badges so late registrations or damaged pages do not disrupt the training.
- Set aside a complete practice kit for every exercise before participants arrive. Keep flip chart sheets, markers and other practice materials at the front of the room rather than in a cupboard.
- Test the presentation setup at least 24 hours in advance and again 30 minutes before opening the room. Check the laptop, projector, screen, HDMI cable, extension cord, power strip, speaker and wireless microphone together.
- Order catering only after dietary requirements are collected and counted. Confirm the final numbers with the caterer 2β3 working days before the training, and keep food containers available for leftovers or separate meal portions.
