Women’s Run Shopping List
A women’s run needs more than race numbers and medals. You’ll need clearly marked route equipment, a working registration point, water, first aid supplies and reliable communication for volunteers. Buy or bring items according to your number of runners, then add a small reserve for damaged bibs, lost safety pins and extra drinks. Check power needs before event day, especially if you use a speaker, microphone or megaphone.

Tips
- Prepare one bib number and at least four safety pins per runner, plus 5–10% extra for replacements. Sort the bibs and wristbands before registration opens so volunteers are not searching during check-in.
- Plan water for every runner at the water station, with extra cups and a reserve supply for warm weather. Fill the coolers before setup and keep ice packs available for first aid.
- Mark the course with route arrows, traffic cones and barrier tape at every turn or potentially confusing section. Walk the route again on event morning because signs can be moved or hidden overnight.
- Give each checkpoint volunteer a reflective vest, whistle and a clear way to contact the finish area. Keep megaphones or an accuspeaker available if the course is spread out or noisy.
- Test the wireless microphone, accuspeaker, extension cords and power strips before runners arrive. Charge power banks the night before and keep the first aid kits at registration and near the finish area.
Frequently asked questions
- What do I need for a women’s run registration table?
- Bring bib numbers, wristbands, safety pins, tables, chairs, a welcome sign and tablecloths. Prepare one registration place for every 50–75 runners so check-in does not create a long queue.
- How many safety pins do I need for a women’s run?
- Allow four safety pins per runner to attach a bib, then add 5–10% extra. For 100 runners, pack at least 420–440 pins so damaged or lost pins do not stop registration.
- What should I buy for a women’s run water station?
- Bring reusable cups, coolers and enough drinks for the planned route and runner count, with extra for warm conditions. Set up the station before the final course inspection and refill the coolers before the start.
- How early should I prepare the women’s run equipment?
- Sort bibs, wristbands, signs and volunteer equipment at least one day before the run. Test sound equipment and charge power banks the night before, then inspect the route and set up water on event morning.
