Resilience training checklist

A resilience training session combines classroom learning with movement, drills and practical exercises, so the planning needs to cover more than a meeting room. Use this checklist to organise the programme, confirm trainers, manage registrations and prepare the space in the right order. Allow time for dietary information, equipment checks and floor clearance before participants arrive. The final setup should support a registration desk, warm-up, training stations and a clear safety briefing.

Tips

  • Set the programme and learning objectives before opening registration. Participants need clear information about the session format, what to wear and whether they will take part in physical exercises.
  • Confirm the trainers early and prepare one shared coaches’ briefing. Include the timetable, learning goals, safety rules, room layout and who leads the introduction, warm-up and practical sections.
  • Inspect the training room before setting up tables and chairs. Clear enough floor space for mats, crash mats and movement drills, then check that the projector, laptop, extension cords and power strips can be used safely.
  • Count and test sports equipment before bringing it to the venue. Check training mats, boxing gloves, resistance bands, cones, skipping ropes, practice sticks, balance pads, stopwatches and whistles rather than discovering shortages during the session.
  • Order catering only after collecting dietary requirements and confirming attendance. Set up coffee, tea, reusable cups, plates and cutlery before registration, and keep water and refreshments separate from the active training area.

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I organise a resilience training session?
Start booking the training room and confirming trainers at least 4 to 6 weeks before the session. Open registration once the programme, date, room and trainer availability are fixed.
How much time do I need to set up a resilience training room?
Allow 60 to 90 minutes for unloading materials, inspecting the room, clearing the floor and setting up tables, chairs, mats and sports equipment. Add another 15 minutes for a final safety check.
When should I collect dietary requirements for resilience training?
Ask for dietary requirements during registration and close the request at least 7 days before the training. This gives you time to confirm catering quantities and suitable alternatives.
What equipment is needed for a practical resilience training session?
Plan for training mats and crash mats, plus the specific sports equipment used in the exercises, such as gloves, resistance bands, cones, skipping ropes and balance pads. Check every item at least 2 days before the session and bring spares where a damaged item could stop an activity.
