What you need for a Geography Quiz

A Geography Quiz needs more than questions and a projector. You will need printed answer and score sheets, team labels, pens, clipboards and a few reliable timing and scoring tools. Plan tableware and refreshments separately: coffee cups, glasses, plates and serving platters are easy to overlook when shopping. This checklist also covers the equipment needed to show the quiz clearly and keep each round running without delays.

Tips

  • Prepare one answer form, one clipboard and at least one pen for each team. Add 10–20% extra pens and forms so a missing or faulty item does not stop a round.
  • Allow two to three drinks per person for the first hour, then adjust for the expected length of the quiz. Chill drinks before guests arrive and count coffee cups separately from glasses.
  • Check the presentation setup at least 24 hours beforehand: laptop, projector, screen, HDMI cable, speaker, microphone, extension cords and power strips must work together.
  • Buy or gather serving items before shopping day. For a quiz with 40 guests, prepare at least 40 plates, glasses and sets of cutlery, plus a few extras for breakages or late arrivals.
  • Keep the scoring station separate from the teams. Have score forms, a stopwatch, quiz bell, whiteboard and markers ready on the quiz master’s table before registration opens.
