What to Buy for an Electronic Concert
An electronic concert needs more than decks and speakers. Use this shopping list to prepare drinks, bar supplies, furniture, lighting, power distribution, cable protection and basic safety equipment before setup day. Match the technical equipment to the performersβ rider, then check every cable, adapter and spare before the doors open. Buy or collect consumables early enough to chill drinks and resolve missing items before the soundcheck.

Tips
- Plan two to three drinks per guest for the first hour, then about one drink per person per hour after that. Add water separately; performers and crew need easy access to non-alcoholic drinks throughout the night.
- Do not leave power and cable protection until setup. Count extension cords, power strips, cable reels, cable trays and gaffer tape against the stage, DJ position, lighting stands and bar layout at least one day before the concert.
- Keep spare headphones and the correct adapters with the DJ equipment, not in a general storage box. Check the rider for required DJ controllers, CDJ players, mixer connections, DI boxes and monitor speakers before buying or borrowing anything.
- Buy or collect furniture according to the room layout: coat racks near the entrance, waste bins where drinks are served, high tables in the audience area, and folding chairs where guests or crew will actually use them.
- Order first-aid supplies and confirm security before the event week. Put the first-aid kit where staff can reach it immediately, and make sure the entrance team knows who handles incidents and access questions.
Frequently asked questions
- How many drinks do I need for an electronic concert?
- Use two to three drinks per guest for the first hour, followed by about one drink per guest per hour. Keep water and other non-alcoholic drinks separate from the bar estimate so you do not run short.
- What cables do I need for an electronic concert?
- Prepare extension cords, power strips, cable reels, cable trays and gaffer tape for every stage, DJ and lighting connection. Check the technical rider at least 7 days before the concert and bring spare cables or adapters for the listed equipment.
- What lighting equipment should I buy for an electronic concert?
- The plan may require LED spotlights, moving heads, a strobe light, light stands, a light controller and mood lighting. Confirm the room size, mounting points and power requirements before ordering, ideally at least 1 week before setup.
- When should I buy supplies for an electronic concert?
- Buy drinks, bar supplies, first-aid items and disposable consumables at least 2 to 3 days before the event. Collect rented sound, lighting and furniture equipment early enough for a full setup and soundcheck before doors open.
