What you need for a CV workshop
A CV workshop needs more than printed handouts and a laptop. Each participant should have a notepad, pen, work folder, document folder and name badge ready before the session starts. For the room, plan tables and chairs, a presentation setup, flip-chart supplies and enough extension cords to reach every device safely. Coffee, tea, cups, glasses and serving items should be available from registration onward, so late arrivals do not interrupt the workshop.

Tips
- Prepare one complete materials set per participant: a notepad, ballpoint pen, work folder, document folder and name badge. Add 5β10% extra sets for damaged items, walk-ins or participants who forget a pen.
- Check the presentation connection before participants arrive. Bring the laptop, projector, projection screen, HDMI cable, extension cords and power strips, and test the setup at least 30 minutes before registration.
- Plan one flip chart with paper and a marker set for each active working area, plus tape and sticky notes. Keep spare markers available because dry markers are often discovered only after the exercise begins.
- Set up the refreshment station before registration with coffee pots or thermos flasks, coffee cups, drinking glasses, plates, cutlery sets and serving platters. Keep coolers ready if drinks or food need to stay cold.
- Leave enough space around adjusted worktops, the reception desk and coat rack for people to move without crossing the presentation area. Put workshop materials on the tables before opening the room, not during the introduction.
Frequently asked questions
- What materials does each person need for a CV workshop?
- Allow one notepad, one ballpoint pen, one work folder, one document folder and one name badge per participant. Prepare 5β10% extra sets so a missing or damaged item does not delay the session.
- What equipment do I need to present a CV workshop?
- Use a laptop, projector, projection screen and HDMI cable, with extension cords and power strips for the room layout. Test every connection at least 30 minutes before participants arrive.
- How many flip charts and markers should I buy?
- Plan one flip chart and one paper pad for each separate working area, then add one spare pad if the workshop includes several exercises. Allow at least two markers per working area and keep extra markers nearby.
- When should I buy and prepare supplies for a CV workshop?
- Buy or collect the workshop materials at least 3β5 days beforehand, then check the full set again the day before. Set out participant materials, presentation equipment and refreshments before registration starts.
