What you need for a club championship
A club championship needs more than match balls and a scoreboard. You will also need a reliable registration setup, printed score sheets, referee and volunteer equipment, catering supplies, chilled drinks and a separate prize table. Plan quantities from the number of participants, matches and volunteers, then check power, printing and weather protection before shopping. This list helps you gather everything in time for setup and competition day.

Tips
- Prepare at least one match ball for each active playing area, plus a spare pump. Check every ball the day before rather than discovering low pressure during the first match.
- Allow one registration place for every 50 participants and bring a printed participant list, score sheets and a working printer or laptop. Pack extension cords and power strips if registration or scoring needs electricity.
- Count reusable cups, plates and cutlery for the largest serving round, then add 10% extra. Chill drinks before doors open and keep thermos flasks ready for coffee or hot water.
- Set aside one whistle and stopwatch for each referee or active match official, with at least one spare of each. Put cones, barrier tape and measuring tapes together so course setup does not delay registration.
- Order prizes and medals early enough to inspect names, categories and quantities at least 7 days before the championship. Keep them at the prize table, separate from scoreboards and other equipment, until the results are confirmed.
Frequently asked questions
- What equipment do I need for a club championship?
- Plan match balls, training bibs, cones, barrier tape, whistles, stopwatches and scoreboards for the competition areas. Add a measuring tape and a spare pump, and prepare one complete referee set for each active match area.
- How many cups and plates do I need for a club championship?
- Count one cup, plate and cutlery set per person for each full serving round, then add at least 10% spare. Include separate coffee cups and enough pitchers or thermos flasks for the planned drinks service.
- When should I order club championship prizes and medals?
- Order prizes and medals at least 7 days before the event. Check the quantities, categories and names immediately after delivery so corrections are possible before competition day.
- What should I bring for registration at a club championship?
- Prepare a registration desk, participant list, printed score sheets, a laptop or printer, and power access if needed. Have the table ready at least 60 minutes before the first match so late registrations do not interrupt the opening.
