What to bring and buy for a BHV training day

A BHV training day needs more than manuals and coffee. You need working demonstration equipment, a room that supports both instruction and practice, and enough serving items for every participant. Use the plan below to prepare registration, presentations, first aid, fire-fighting and evacuation exercises without last-minute shopping. Check equipment before the trainers arrive, especially the AED trainer, CPR dummy, training extinguisher and presentation connections.

Tips

  • Plan one BHV manual, notepad and ballpoint pen per participant, plus at least two spare sets for late registrations or damaged materials. Print the participant list before setup so registration does not depend on a laptop.
  • For coffee and tea, allow two drinks per person for a half-day session and keep hot water, mugs and a thermos available during the break. Chill drinks in the cool box before participants arrive rather than during registration.
  • Test the laptop, projector, screen, HDMI cable, extension cord and power strip together at least 30 minutes before the briefing. Bring one compatible connection option if the trainer’s laptop uses a different port.
  • Set up separate practice areas for the AED trainer, CPR dummy, training fire extinguisher and evacuation exercise. Leave clear walking space between stations and check that the whistle can be heard from the far end of the room.
  • Prepare the reception table before opening: participant list, pens, manuals and dietary information should be in one place. Keep serving platters, spoons, plates, glasses and cutlery together so the coffee break does not interrupt the training setup.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need for a BHV training day?
You need training materials, presentation equipment, coffee-break supplies and practice equipment for first aid, fire-fighting and evacuation. The core practice set includes an AED trainer, CPR dummy, training fire extinguisher and evacuation whistle.
How many BHV manuals and notepads should I buy?
Buy one manual, notepad and ballpoint pen per participant, then add two spare sets for changes or damaged materials. Confirm the final registration count before ordering or printing.
How early should I set up the BHV training room?
Start room setup at least 60 minutes before participant registration. Test the presentation equipment and practice stations during that hour, leaving the final 30 minutes for troubleshooting and trainer briefing.
How much coffee and tea do I need for BHV training?
Allow about two hot drinks per person for the first half-day session, plus extra water and chilled drinks for the break. Add roughly 10% spare servings if the training lasts a full day or attendance is uncertain.
