Tips
- Plan drinking water for the first hour as well as the finish. Have at least 2β3 drinks per participant ready for that period, then add extra for volunteers and warm weather.
- Prepare one bib number and sponsorship envelope per registered runner, plus 5β10% spare numbers for late changes or damaged materials. Sort them before event morning.
- Set aside route equipment in separate packs: arrows, cones, barrier tape, whistles and safety vests. Give each route volunteer a pack at least 30 minutes before the first runner starts.
- Check power and sound supplies the day before. Test the wireless microphone, speakers, mixer, extension cords and power strips, and charge power banks overnight.
- Prepare refreshments with reusable plates, cutlery, cups, serving platters and tongs. Chill drinks several hours before the start and keep a separate supply for volunteers and the animal welfare organization.
Frequently asked questions
- What should I buy for an animal welfare sponsorship run?
- You need supplies for four areas: registration, route safety, refreshments and communication. Plan for bib numbers, sponsor envelopes, route arrows, cones, barrier tape, safety vests, water, reusable tableware, tables and sound equipment.
- How much water do I need for a sponsorship run?
- For the first hour, allow 2β3 drinks per participant and add drinks for every volunteer. Increase the quantity in warm weather, and chill the drinks at least 3β4 hours before the event.

- When should I prepare the route equipment?
- Pack route arrows, cones, barrier tape, whistles and safety vests no later than the evening before. Give each route volunteer their equipment at least 30 minutes before the start.
