What you need for a yoga morning
A yoga morning needs more than mats and a playlist. Plan equipment for every participant, plus a few spare pieces, then prepare the breakfast and drinks so serving does not interrupt the schedule. This shopping list covers yoga props, breakfast tableware, hot and cold drinks, reception supplies and basic clean-up items. Check what the venue already provides before buying tables, chairs, power strips or cleaning equipment.

Tips
- Plan one yoga mat per participant and keep at least two spare mats available for late registrations or damaged equipment. For shared sessions, provide roughly one block and one strap per person, plus blankets and bolsters if the class uses them.
- For a group of 20, prepare about 40 to 60 small breakfast portions, such as fruit, bread or pastries, so people can choose without creating excessive leftovers. Wash and cut fruit before guests arrive and place serving spoons with every shared bowl.
- Allow two reusable cups per person when hot tea and water are both served. Fill water jugs before registration, and use thermos flasks for hot drinks so the breakfast buffet can be set up without repeated trips to the kitchen.
- Prepare one name badge and one pen for each registered guest, plus at least five extra badges and pens. Put the welcome sign where guests enter; it prevents people from walking into the practice room while setup is still underway.
- Test the Bluetooth speaker, extension cords and power strips at least 30 minutes before arrival. Keep adhesive tape nearby to secure cables, and set out buckets, mops and sponges before breakfast begins so spills can be handled immediately.
Frequently asked questions
- What do I need to buy for a yoga morning?
- Plan yoga mats, blocks, straps, blankets or bolsters, plus breakfast ingredients, cups, plates, bowls and serving utensils. You will also need water jugs, thermos flasks, name badges, pens, a speaker and basic cleaning supplies.
- How many yoga mats do I need for 20 people?
- Prepare 20 mats for the registered participants and keep 2 spare mats available. If guests bring their own mats, confirm this before shopping and still keep a small backup supply.
- How much breakfast should I prepare for a yoga morning?
- Allow 2 to 3 small portions per person, so a group of 20 needs around 40 to 60 portions. Include enough cups and plates for everyone, and prepare the fruit shortly before serving to keep it fresh.
- How early should I set up a yoga morning?
- Start room setup at least 60 minutes before participants arrive. Set out mats and props first, then arrange reception and breakfast, ventilate the room, and test music and lighting at least 30 minutes before the start.
