What you need for reading skills training
Plan the materials around the number of participants, the length of the training and the exercises you will run. Each participant needs a reading text, worksheets, a writing folder, a notepad and a pen, with a few extras for late registrations or damaged copies. You will also need presentation and writing equipment, a registration table, and a simple coffee and tea setup. Check technical equipment and printed materials at least one working day before the session.

Tips
- Prepare one complete learning pack per participant: include the selected reading books, printed worksheets, a writing folder, a notepad and a pen. Add 5β10% extra copies so one missing or damaged pack does not interrupt the training.
- Test the laptop, projector, projection screen, HDMI cable, presentation clicker and power connections at least one day before the session. Pack one spare extension cord and power strip, and keep the presentation on the laptop as a backup.
- For a half-day session, plan roughly 2β3 cups of coffee or tea per person, plus drinking water. Set up the coffee maker, kettle, thermos, cups, glasses and pouring jugs before participants arrive so registration is not delayed.
- Bring enough writing supplies for the exercises: provide at least one pen and notepad per participant, with 10% extras. Put the whiteboard markers, markers, flip chart and two or more flipchart pads where the instructor can reach them.
- Prepare the reception table with the final participant list, name badges and spare badges before opening the room. Keep dietary requirements with the catering order and check the quantities against the confirmed registrations 24β48 hours beforehand.
