Tips

Plan 10–15% more plates, glasses and cutlery than your confirmed guest count. This covers breakages, seconds and items left at the buffet instead of returned for washing.
Reserve ceremony chairs separately from dining chairs. For a seated nikah, count one chair per attendee and add 2–4 spare chairs for family members, the coordinator or late arrivals.
Prepare the welcome table and gift table at least one day before the ceremony. Keep the welcome sign, printed guest list, name badges and program board together so they are not packed with the catering supplies.
Buy shelf-stable groceries up to 7 days ahead, but collect chilled products on the day or within 24 hours of serving. Put them into cold storage immediately after unloading.
