What to Bring for a Networking Walk
A networking walk needs more than a route and a guest list. Prepare supplies for the walk itself, plus a simple reception at the finish point. Plan drinking water for every participant, clear route materials, visible identification and enough serving equipment for the food and drinks. The items people most often arrange too late are name badges, printed maps, coolers and power access for coffee equipment.

Tips
- Bring one drink bottle per participant and keep extra water available at the start and finish. For the reception, allow two to three drinks per person during the first hour, then adjust for the weather and walking distance.
- Prepare one name badge and lanyard for each participant, plus at least 10% spare badges for late registrations or replacements. Pack markers so people can correct names on arrival.
- Print route maps for every participant and keep a separate set for each walking guide. Add directional signs and arrow stickers at confusing turns, and bring clipboards so guides can use the route information while walking.
- For coffee service, provide one coffee cup, plate and cutlery set per guest, then add 10% extra. Check the venueβs sockets before bringing coffee machines or kettles; pack extension cords and power strips only where they are permitted.
- Use coolers for drinks and prepare a weather backup with umbrellas or shelter for the reception area. If the walk may finish near dusk, bring LED lanterns or light strings and reflective vests for guides.
