Korfball tournament shopping list
A korfball tournament needs more than balls and goals. You also need practical supplies for several matches, team registration, scoring, refreshments and changing areas. This shopping list covers the equipment and consumables to collect before the day, including spare ball-pump parts, power supplies and serving gear. Check quantities against the number of teams, courts and match hours, then buy or borrow anything that cannot be sourced at short notice.

Tips
- Plan at least one korfball, whistle and stopwatch for every active court, plus one spare ball and spare whistle for the tournament desk. Test the ball pump and pack reserve valves before loading the equipment.
- Prepare one scorecard and one printed match sheet per game, then add at least 10% extra copies for changes, lost sheets or wet weather. Keep pens and the forms together in a labelled material box.
- For refreshments, allow two to three drinks per person during the first hour and one drink per person for each additional hour. Bring extra water separately from soft drinks so teams can refill between matches.
- Do not leave power planning until match day: count every speaker, kettle and charging point, then pack enough extension leads and power strips to reach them safely. Charge rechargeable batteries and power banks the evening before.
- Set aside food-service supplies before shopping, including cool boxes, serving platters, tongs, chopping boards and bread knives. Collect dietary requirements with team registrations and label suitable food before it reaches the serving table.
Frequently asked questions
- What equipment do I need for a korfball tournament?
- For each active court, plan one set of korfball posts and baskets, at least one ball, a whistle and a stopwatch. Add training bibs, cones, court-marking tape and one spare ball-pump setup for the whole tournament.
- How many drinks should I buy for a korfball tournament?
- Budget two to three drinks per person for the first hour and one more drink per person for every following hour. Add extra water for warm conditions and keep it in cool boxes so players can access it between matches.
- How many scorecards and match sheets do I need?
- Prepare one scorecard and one match sheet for every scheduled game, then print at least 10% extra. For example, 40 games require 44 copies of each form, allowing for schedule changes or damaged paperwork.
- When should I prepare the tournament shopping and equipment?
- Check the complete list at least 7 days before the tournament and finish buying or borrowing non-food items by 2 days before. Charge batteries, power banks and sound equipment the evening before, and load the equipment after the final check.
