What to Buy for a Health Quiz

A health quiz needs more than questions and a projector. You’ll need printed quiz booklets and answer forms, enough pens and clipboards for teams, plus a simple setup for registration, scoring and refreshments. Plan quantities from your confirmed participant list, then add a small buffer for late arrivals and spare materials. Check presentation equipment, power supplies and serving items before shopping so the quiz does not stall when guests arrive.

Tips

  • Prepare one quiz booklet and answer form for each team, not each individual. Add at least 10% extra copies so a late registration or damaged page does not disrupt a round.
  • Buy or bring one working pen per participant, plus 10% spare pens. If teams share clipboards, allow one clipboard per team and keep several extras at the registration desk.
  • Plan drinks by time: two to three drinks per person for the first hour, then about one drink per person for each additional hour. Include coffee, tea and water, and chill cold drinks before guests arrive.
  • For snacks, allow two to three small portions per person per hour and check dietary requirements before shopping. Keep serving plates, glasses, cups and cutlery together rather than discovering missing tableware during registration.
  • Test the laptop, projector, screen, speaker, microphone and presentation clicker at least one day ahead. Bring extension cords and power strips, and keep a whiteboard or scoreboard available for visible team scores.

Frequently asked questions

How many pens do I need for a health quiz?
Allow one pen per participant, then add 10% spare pens. For 40 participants, that means at least 44 pens, even if teams normally share answers.
How many quiz booklets and answer forms should I print?
Print one booklet and one answer form for every team, plus 10% extra. If you expect 12 teams, prepare at least 14 of each to cover changes and damaged copies.
How much food and drink do I need for a health quiz?
Plan two to three drinks per person during the first hour and one more per person for every extra hour. Provide two to three small snack portions per person per hour, adjusting for dietary requirements.
When should I check the health quiz equipment?
Test the laptop, projector, speaker, microphone and clicker at least one day before the quiz. On the day itself, allow 30 minutes before registration to check cables, power strips, presentation slides and sound.
