Gymnastics Training Checklist
Use this checklist to organise a gymnastics training session from the first registration to the final equipment check. It covers the details that are easy to leave until the last minute: booking the sports hall, confirming the trainer, printing participant information and preparing every station safely. On the day, allow time to inspect the floor, position mats, test the timer and music, and set up registration, water and snacks before participants arrive.

Tips
- Reserve the sports hall and secure the trainer before opening registrations. Confirm the session time, access arrangements and key collection deadline at least one week ahead.
- Close registrations early enough to print an accurate participant list and training schedule. Collect dietary requirements during registration rather than trying to identify them at the door.
- Allow at least 60 minutes before the session for hall access, changing-room checks, floor inspection and equipment setup. Roll out the gymnastics floor before placing mats and stations.
- Put crash mats and thick landing mats around springboards, mini trampolines, bars, beams and other landing areas before participants enter. Check that equipment is stable and that material carts are not blocking walkways.
- Prepare the registration desk, chairs, water jugs, reusable cups and snack trays before check-in starts. Test the portable speaker and timer during setup, not when the warm-up is about to begin.
Frequently asked questions
- How early should I arrive for gymnastics training?
- Arrive at least 60 minutes before participants are due to start. This gives you time to collect the keys, inspect the changing rooms and floor, set up equipment and test the music and timer.
- What equipment do I need for a gymnastics training session?
- Plan the equipment around the exercises and stations, including a gym floor, landing mats, small mats, benches, springboards, beams, bars and any smaller training items. Check every item before setup and place protective mats before participants arrive.
- When should I collect gymnastics training registrations?
- Set a registration deadline at least 2 to 3 days before training if you need to print the participant list and schedule. Ask for dietary requirements at the same time so water, snacks and suitable alternatives can be prepared.
- How long does it take to set up a gymnastics hall?
- Allow at least 45 to 60 minutes for a standard session, depending on the number of stations. Add extra time if the gym floor, large mats or multiple equipment carts must be moved from storage.
