Tips

  • Prepare one team bag for every team and add at least 10% spare clue cards, answer forms, ribbons, and writing supplies. A few extras prevent one missing card from delaying the whole hunt.
  • Allow one stopwatch for each active fox station, with at least two spare stopwatches for replacements. Test them before the briefing and keep them together at registration.
  • Mark the route and fox posts with cones and team ribbons, then pack extra markers for unclear junctions or windy conditions. Count the markers after setup so none are left along the route.
  • Plan drinks for the full route, not just the finish. As a working estimate, provide 500 ml of water per participant and bring coolers, water jugs, or thermos flasks suited to the weather.
  • Set aside prizes, plates, small bowls, serving utensils, and reusable cups before the event day. Keep prizes and serving equipment at the finish rather than mixing them with route materials.
