Tips

Plan one stall number sign and one clear information point for every stall area shown on your floor plan. Print a few spare numbers before opening in case a layout changes.
For each powered area, pack extension cords, power strips and cable mats together. Test the power supply before opening and keep battery lamps available for stalls or walkways that lose power.
Prepare at least one clipboard and several ballpoint pens for registrations, payment records and last-minute notes. Keep the payment terminals and cash registers at a staffed information desk rather than leaving them unattended.
If you serve refreshments, group reusable cups, coffee mugs, plates, cutlery sets and serving tongs in one box. Chill drinks before doors open, and use coolers and thermos flasks so service does not depend on constant trips back to storage.
