What to bring and buy for an e-chopper tour

An e-chopper tour needs more than the bikes and helmets. Plan for route navigation, changing weather, phone batteries and a proper stop along the way. For each participant, prepare a helmet, reflective vest and a way to keep their phone dry. This checklist also covers drinks, serving equipment, lighting and basic repairs, so the group can start smoothly and finish dinner without last-minute shopping.

Tips

  • Pack one waterproof phone case and one rain poncho per participant, even when the forecast looks dry. Weather can change during a tour, and wet phones are difficult to use for navigation or emergency calls.
  • Allow one power bank and the correct charging cable for every two participants. Charge them before departure and bring an extension cord, power strip or both if several devices need charging at the stop.
  • Print one route map per e-chopper plus two spare copies. Keep the maps in waterproof cases or bags, and send the digital route to participants before the tour starts.
  • For a group meal or picnic stop, count one reusable cup, plate and cutlery set per person, then add at least two spare sets. Bring coolers and ice packs for anything perishable and chill it before leaving.
  • Put a repair kit, bike lock and a short list of emergency numbers in the support bag. Check the kit before departure and keep the numbers printed as well as saved on the organiser’s phone.

Frequently asked questions

What should each person bring on an e-chopper tour?
Each person should have a helmet, reflective vest, waterproof phone case and rain poncho. Add a charged phone, suitable clothing and any personal medication before departure.
How many power banks do I need for an e-chopper tour?
Plan one charged power bank for every two participants, with a charging cable for each phone type in the group. For a long route, use one power bank per person instead.
How many spare route maps should I print?
Print one map per e-chopper and two additional copies for the organiser or support vehicle. Print them at least one day before the tour so you have time to replace unclear or outdated copies.
How much food and drink should I buy for the tour?
For drinks, plan two to three servings per person for the first hour, then one serving per person for each additional hour. Buy food according to the dinner reservation and dietary requirements, and chill perishable items before departure.
