What to bring for a brewery visit

A brewery visit usually needs more than tasting glasses and snacks. You may also need water, non-alcoholic drinks, labels, printed schedules and a practical way to carry everything between the meeting point and the brewery. Plan supplies around the number of participants, the tasting format and the time spent travelling. Check with the brewery before buying serving equipment, because some venues provide glasses, tables or food service themselves.

Tips

  • Plan at least one water glass and one tasting glass per participant if the brewery does not provide them. Add a few extras for breakage, shared use or late arrivals.
  • Bring two to three non-alcoholic drinks per person for the first hour, especially when participants will taste several beers. Cool them before departure and keep them separate from tasting supplies.
  • Pack snacks that can be served without a full kitchen: allow roughly 100–150 grams per person and bring plates, serving tongs and napkins or other table protection.
  • Prepare name stickers, pens and printed programme flyers before the day. Pack them on a clipboard so registration, dietary notes and the route information stay together.
  • Use coolers or backpacks for supplies and keep a first aid kit, flashlights and emergency contact details accessible. Pack extension cords and power strips only if the starting point or venue has confirmed that power is available.

Frequently asked questions

What should I bring to a brewery visit?
Bring tasting and water glasses, plates, cutlery, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, bottle openers and serving equipment unless the brewery supplies them. Also pack name stickers, programme flyers, route signs and a first aid kit.
How much water and soft drink do I need for a brewery tour?
Plan two to three non-alcoholic drinks per person for the first hour, then add one drink per person for each additional hour. Bring extra water if the visit includes walking, warm weather or transport delays.
How many snacks do I need for a beer tasting?
Allow about 100–150 grams of snacks per person for a tasting lasting up to two hours. Buy more if the visit overlaps with a meal, and check dietary requirements at least one week beforehand.
When should I confirm what the brewery provides?
Confirm glasses, tables, seating, food service and power at least 7 days before the visit. Recheck the booking, arrival time and tasting arrangements 24–48 hours before departure.
