Animal Quiz Checklist
An animal quiz runs smoothly when the questions, teams, equipment and refreshments are ready before guests arrive. Confirm the date and venue first, then build and check the quiz, collect registrations and dietary requirements, and prepare the room. Allow time to test the presentation, screen and sound system rather than discovering a missing cable at the start. This checklist also covers answer forms, snacks, chilled drinks, prizes and the final room setup.

Tips
- Finish the quiz rounds and check every answer several days before the event. Prepare tie-break questions at the same time, so you are not writing extra questions while teams are waiting for results.
- Set a clear registration deadline, ideally 5β7 days before the quiz. Use the final list to create participant groups and confirm dietary requirements before buying snacks.
- Test the laptop, presentation, monitor screen, HDMI cable, microphone and sound system at the venue at least 2 hours before guests arrive. Keep extension cords, power strips and a power bank available for equipment problems.
- Chill drinks for at least 4 hours if possible, and prepare snacks before opening the venue. Put out reusable glasses, plates, cutlery, small bowls and serving boards before the first team sits down.
- Allow 60β90 minutes for room setup. Arrange tables and chairs first, then the quiz table, display screen, answer forms and presentation; add tablecloths, animal-themed table cards and the banner last.
Frequently asked questions
- How far in advance should I organise an animal quiz?
- Start planning 3β4 weeks before the quiz. Confirm the venue and date first, then allow at least 7 days to collect registrations, form teams and check dietary requirements.

- Allow 60β90 minutes for the room and equipment setup. Add another 15β20 minutes for a complete presentation and sound check before guests arrive.
- What equipment do I need for an animal quiz?
- You need a laptop, display screen, HDMI cable, sound system and microphone, plus extension cords and power strips. Test all connections at least 2 hours beforehand and bring a power bank for backup.
- When should I prepare food and drinks for an animal quiz?
- Buy the food and drinks 1β2 days before the event, then chill drinks for at least 4 hours. Prepare snacks before opening the venue and keep dietary requirements from registrations beside the serving area.
