What you need for a wakeboard clinic

A wakeboard clinic needs more than boards and helmets. You also need enough drinking glasses, coolers, towels, changing-room seating and clearly marked safety areas for the full group. Buy or collect food-service items before the equipment pickup, and check sizes for wetsuits, life jackets and bindings against the final participant list. Keep a few spare towels, ice packs and first-aid supplies ready: these are easy to overlook and difficult to replace once the session has started.

Tips

  • Count one reusable drinking glass, plate and cutlery set per participant, plus 10% extra for replacements and staff. Bring serving platters, tongs and serving spoons so food does not have to be handled directly.
  • Allow at least one cooler for drinks and one separate cooler for food or ice packs. Chill drinks before arrival; a cooler filled on site will not cool a full group quickly enough.
  • Check every participant’s wetsuit, life jacket and wakeboard binding size 2–3 days before the clinic. Keep at least two spare towels per 10 participants, especially if changing-room access is limited.
  • Pack cones and barrier tape to mark the safety zone before registration opens. Keep life rings and a stocked first-aid kit at the water’s edge, where instructors can reach them immediately.
  • Prepare two to three drinks per person for the first hour, then about one drink per person per additional hour. Bring kettles or a coffee machine, coffee cups and hot-drink supplies if participants will arrive early or wait between groups.

Frequently asked questions

What food and drink do I need for a wakeboard clinic?
Plan two to three drinks per person for the first hour, then one per person for each additional hour. Buy food that can be served quickly between groups, and bring 10% extra portions for instructors, staff and late additions.
How many towels should I bring to a wakeboard clinic?
Bring at least one towel per participant, plus two spare towels for every 10 people. If the clinic has several water sessions or limited changing-room facilities, use two towels per participant instead.
When should I check wakeboarding equipment and clothing sizes?
Match wakeboards, bindings, helmets, life jackets and wetsuits to the final participant list 2–3 days before the clinic. Inspect the equipment again on the day, before participants enter the water.
What safety items are needed for a wakeboard clinic?
Have helmets, life jackets, life rings, a first-aid kit, cones and barrier tape ready before the first group starts. Mark the safety zone and place the life rings and first-aid kit where they can be reached within 30 seconds.
