What you need for a study skills training session
Use this shopping list to prepare a study skills training session without running short of materials or refreshments. Plan supplies for each participant, plus a small reserve for late registrations and damaged items. The training needs more than worksheets: workstations, name badges, presentation equipment, coffee service and lunch tableware all need to be ready before participants arrive. Check what the venue already provides before buying furniture or equipment.

Tips
- Prepare 10% more worksheets, study planners and notepads than the confirmed participant count. For 30 attendees, that means 33 copies of each item.
- Buy one ballpoint pen per participant plus 10% spare pens. For 30 participants, bring at least 33 pens so a missing or empty pen does not interrupt an exercise.
- Set aside one name badge for every registered participant and prepare 2β3 blank badges for walk-ins or replacement badges. Keep them at the registration desk with the attendance list.
- For a full training day, plan two to three drinks per person during the first hour, then one drink per person per hour. Count mugs and glasses separately and add about 10% spare tableware.
- Check presentation connections at least 24 hours before the session. Pack the laptop, HDMI cable, extension cord, power strip and presentation clicker together, and test the projector and microphone at the venue before registration opens.
