Religion quiz checklist: what to organise and when
A religion quiz needs more than a set of questions. You need a confirmed venue and date, clear themes, checked answers and a scoring system before invitations go out. Registration details also affect team sizes, dietary requirements and catering quantities. Use the checklist to move from planning to setup, with quiz materials, tables, food, drinks and presentation equipment ready before participants arrive.

Tips
- Set the date and reserve the venue before writing the full quiz. Allow at least 4–6 weeks for invitations, registrations and team planning.
- Prepare the questions in rounds or themes, then have someone check them separately. Finish the answer key and scoring rules at least 7 days before the quiz.
- Close registrations several days before the event so you can assemble teams, confirm dietary requirements and print the right number of quiz booklets, answer forms and score sheets.
- Test the laptop, projector, screen, microphone and speaker together before guests arrive. Bring extension cords, power strips and charging cables, and allow 30 minutes for a final equipment check.
- Plan the room setup before opening the venue: place tables and chairs, create a registration desk and quiz table, then chill drinks and arrange coffee, catering and serving equipment before the first team checks in.
Frequently asked questions
- How far in advance should I organise a religion quiz?
- Start 4–6 weeks before the event. Reserve the venue and set the date first, then allow time for invitations, registrations, team assembly, catering and printing.
- When should I finish the religion quiz questions?
- Complete and independently check the questions at least 7 days before the quiz. Finalise the answers and scoring at the same time so there is no uncertainty during marking.
- How many quiz materials should I print?
- Print one quiz booklet per team, one answer form per round or team as your format requires, and enough score sheets for the scoring process. Add at least 10% spare copies to cover mistakes and last-minute participants.
- When should I set up the venue for a religion quiz?
- Open the venue at least 90 minutes before the advertised start time. Use the first 30 minutes for tables and chairs, the next 30 for the quiz table and presentation equipment, and the remaining time for registration, catering and a sound check.
