Rabbit Show Shopping List
A rabbit show needs more than cages and judging tables. You will also need a clear registration point, numbered cages, printed evaluation forms, refreshments, cleaning supplies and reliable power for equipment. Plan quantities around the number of rabbits, participants, judges and visitors, then add a small reserve for last-minute changes. This list helps you check what must be bought, borrowed or brought before the venue opens.

Tips
- Prepare one cage space for every registered rabbit, then add at least 5% spare capacity for late entries, replacements or separating animals. Check that cage racks fit the planned floor layout before delivery day.
- Set up one registration desk with the participant list, printed forms, pens and cage numbers. Print 10% more forms than the confirmed number of entries so a damaged or corrected form does not stop judging.
- For refreshments, plan two to three drinks per person during the first hour and about one serving of food per expected visitor. Bring reusable cups, coffee cups, plates, cutlery, serving utensils and waste bins rather than relying on the venue.
- Allow at least one extension cord and one power strip for each separate equipment area, including coffee machines, kettles, the printer and the sound system. Keep cables away from cages and walkways and test every connection before doors open.
- Bring hay supplies and cleaning materials before the rabbits arrive, not after judging begins. Keep coolers ready for drinks, and reserve a separate clean area for food preparation with cutting boards, knives and measuring cups.
Frequently asked questions
- What do I need for a rabbit show?
- You need cages and cage racks, tables and chairs, jury tables, a registration desk, numbered cage labels, printed evaluation forms, a scale and cleaning supplies. Also prepare refreshments, reusable or disposable serving items, waste bins and sound equipment if announcements are needed.
- How many rabbit cages should I prepare?
- Prepare one cage for every registered rabbit and add at least 5% spare capacity. For 80 entries, that means 84 cages, rounded up to the next complete rack or transport unit.
- How much food and drink do I need for a rabbit show?
- For drinks, allow two to three servings per person during the first hour, then add roughly one serving per person for each additional hour. Plan one food serving per expected visitor and add 10% extra for volunteers, judges and late arrivals.
- When should I buy supplies for a rabbit show?
- Buy or reserve cages, racks, tables, chairs, the scale and sound equipment at least two weeks beforehand. Purchase drinks and shelf-stable food several days before the show, then chill drinks and prepare fresh items on the day before or the morning of the event.
