What to bring for a Polder Walk
A Polder Walk needs more than drinks and a printed route. You will need supplies for registration, marked paths, rest stops, basic safety and a comfortable starting point. Plan drinks for the full walking time, plus coffee or tea for the start and rest area. Route maps, arrows, reflective vests and waterproof covers are easy to overlook, so buy or pack them before the final setup day rather than on the morning itself.

Tips
- Plan at least 2β3 drinks per person for the first hour, then add water for each remaining hour of walking. Keep chilled drinks in coolers and use reusable cups at the starting point.
- Print one route map per participant, plus 10β15% extra for late registrations or damaged copies. Protect every map used outdoors with a waterproof route cover.
- Prepare one clearly marked registration area with a table, desk, lanyards and participant lists. Pack pens and spare lanyards even if they are not part of the main shopping list.
- Use route arrows at every turn and bring barrier tape for unclear sections or temporary hazards. Reflective vests and flashlights are useful when visibility drops or the walk finishes late.
- Pack a first aid kit, charged walkie-talkies, power banks and a megaphone together in one safety box. Check the first aid kit and charge the equipment no later than the evening before the walk.
