Tips
- Allow one pétanque set for each active court, with at least one spare set available if equipment can be damaged or misplaced. Add measuring tapes, cones and course marking tape before the tournament day, not during setup.
- Prepare one clipboard, scorecard supply and writing set for each match area or scorekeeping volunteer. Keep printed competition rules at the registration desk and near the playing courts.
- Provide roughly one reusable cup per guest plus 10% extra, and plan separate quantities of plates, cutlery and coffee cups. Two to three drinks per person during the first hour is a useful starting point for a warm outdoor tournament.
- If food is served buffet-style, use enough serving platters and pitchers for each food and drink station so queues do not form at one table. Confirm dietary requirements before buying food and keep suitable portions clearly separated.
- For an evening event, check the power plan at least one day ahead. Count every coffee machine, kettle, hot drink urn, cooler and light, then bring enough extension cords and power strips without creating cables across walkways.
