Kickboxing gala shopping list

A kickboxing gala needs more than a ring and gloves. You will need serving equipment for catering, drinks for fighters and guests, and practical items for changing rooms, seating and waste. Plan quantities around your expected attendance, number of bouts and volunteer team. Order specialist ring equipment and trophies early, while drinks, ice and fresh catering supplies can usually be bought closer to the event.

Tips

  • Plan roughly 2–3 drinks per spectator for the first hour, then 1 drink per person for each additional hour. Add extra water for fighters, referees and volunteers, especially during weigh-in and the competition schedule.
  • Allow one reusable glass per guest plus at least 10% spare, and provide separate cups for coffee. For catering, plan one plate and one cutlery set per person, with an additional 10–15% for replacements.
  • Check the ring, ropes, corner equipment, mats, stairs and safety padding at least 7 days before the gala. Missing or damaged safety equipment is difficult to replace at short notice.
  • Prepare the weigh-in station at least 2 hours before registration starts, including the scale, table and paperwork. Test the table timer and round signs before the first bout so officials are not searching for them between matches.
  • Buy ice, chilled drinks and other perishable supplies no earlier than 24 hours before the event. Set aside coolers and ice cube trays for the bar, and keep separate drinking water available ringside.
