Choose the tournament format before sending invitations. For example, decide how many players are in each team, how many courts you need and whether matches run to a fixed score or a time limit.
Close registrations early enough to create balanced teams and a workable schedule. Allow at least 5–7 days to process replies, collect dietary requirements and send participants their start time.
Mark every court clearly before guests arrive. Use field numbers, tape and cones, and leave enough space between courts for players, spectators and measuring with a tape.
Prepare a match control point with the schedule, clipboards, scoreboards and whiteboard markers. Keep spare cochonnets and measuring tapes there so a missing item does not stop a round.
Plan for rain and heat instead of waiting for the forecast on the morning itself. Put up party tents, protect the food and drinks, and check extension cords and the portable speaker before participants arrive.
