Diving trip shopping list
A diving trip needs more than suits, cylinders and masks. Pack food and drinks for the time before and after the dive, plus dry storage, power and safety items that are easy to overlook. Waterproof phone protection, spare batteries, towels and a cooler often get left until the last minute. Use this list alongside your equipment check and pack each participantβs bag before loading the vehicle.

Tips
- Plan two to three drinks per person for the first hour, then add one drink per person for each additional hour. Pack extra water separately from drinks that need to stay cold.
- Allow one substantial meal portion and two snack portions per diver. Prepare food before departure so the group is not waiting to cut or assemble it after the dive.
- Give every diver a waterproof bag for dry clothing, documents and electronics, and pack at least one towel per person. Keep wet suits and used towels separate from dry bags.
- Charge dive computers and rechargeable power banks the day before, not at the meeting point. Bring the charging cables and use extension cords only where the site permits them.
- Pack the first aid kit, emergency blanket, flashlights and whistles in one clearly marked, accessible bag. Do not bury safety supplies under cylinders, lead blocks or chairs.
Frequently asked questions

- How many towels should I pack for a diving trip?
- Pack at least one towel per participant, and two per person if there is no reliable place to dry equipment. Keep clean towels in waterproof bags until the dive is finished.
- When should I charge dive computers and power banks?
- Charge dive computers and rechargeable power banks the day before the trip. Check batteries again before loading, and pack charging cables and an extension cord if charging on site is allowed.
- What safety supplies should be easy to reach during a diving trip?
- Keep the first aid kit, emergency blanket, flashlights, whistles and waterproof phone cases together in one accessible bag. Place it where a participant can reach it without moving cylinders or other heavy equipment.
