What to buy and bring for CPR Day

A CPR Day needs more than manikins and AED trainers. You also need enough practice masks, electrodes, workbooks and pens for each participant, plus certificates and clear group materials. Plan coffee, water and tableware around the final attendance count, and check power supplies before training equipment arrives. This list helps you gather the items that are commonly forgotten, from extension cords to name labels and serving trays.

Tips

  • Plan one workbook, pen and practice mask per participant, then add a small spare supply for damaged or missing items. Keep AED training electrodes and resuscitation masks grouped with the equipment they belong to.
  • Count coffee cups, drinking glasses, plates and cutlery against the confirmed participant list, adding at least 10% extra. Coffee machines also need a nearby power outlet and enough serving space.
  • Prepare one set of instruction posters, whiteboard materials and group handouts for each training area. Label each group’s materials before the venue opens so instructors do not have to sort them during registration.
  • Bring extension cords, power strips and rechargeable batteries even when the venue has power outlets. Test the projector, laptop, portable speaker and AED trainers before participants arrive, preferably during setup.
  • Pack certificate folders, name labels, attendance lists and pens at the registration desk. Print the final participant list after registrations close and keep a few blank labels available for last-minute attendees.

Frequently asked questions

How many CPR manikins do I need for CPR Day?
Use the instructor’s group ratio and the final participant count to calculate the number of manikins. For hands-on practice, plan the equipment before the final group assignments are printed, ideally at least 1 day before the event.
How many CPR practice masks should I buy?
Prepare 1 practice mask per participant and keep at least 10% extra if the supplier allows it. Confirm the final attendance count 2 to 3 days before CPR Day so you can correct the order in time.
What refreshments and tableware are needed for CPR Day?
For each confirmed participant, provide 1 drinking glass, coffee cup, plate and cutlery set, plus 10% spare tableware. Buy coffee and other drinks for the full program and set up the coffee machines before registration opens.
When should I prepare the CPR Day shopping list?
Make the first list when the venue and instructors are confirmed, then update quantities after registrations close. Finish shopping and collect training materials at least 1 day before CPR Day, leaving setup time for equipment checks.
