Tips

Prepare one food bowl and one drink cup for every occupied cage, plus a small reserve of at least 10% for breakage, cleaning or last-minute entries.
Match the number of transport cages to the expected exhibitors rather than assuming birds will arrive in display cages. Check cages, perches and cage bottoms several days before the show.
Print species labels, table numbers and general signage at least 2 days ahead. Keep spare paper and ink available in case registrations or species lists change.
Plan the registration desk separately from the jury tables: provide a laptop, printer and extension cords at registration, and keep judging materials away from the public queue.
For catering, count reusable cups, coffee cups, plates and cutlery by guest, then add 10% extra. Prepare coolers, coffee machines, kettles and thermos flasks before the hall opens.
