Basketball Camp Shopping List
Use this shopping list to prepare a basketball camp without last-minute trips to the store. Plan for the number of registered players, trainers and helpers, then add a small buffer for drinks, snacks and disposable supplies. Food service needs more than ingredients: you will also need coolers, serving utensils, reusable cups and enough tables for registration and meals. Check equipment before camp day so missing balls, bibs or timing tools can be replaced in time.

Tips
- Plan two to three drinks per person for the first hour, then one drink per person for each additional hour of active training. Chill part of the supply in coolers before participants arrive.
- For a full camp day, allow one main meal, two snack breaks and at least two pieces of fruit per participant. Confirm dietary requirements before ordering catering or preparing pasta and sauce.
- Prepare one training bib per player, plus 10% extra for late registrations or damaged bibs. Count basketballs, cones and marker cones before loading the equipment.
- Set aside one reusable cup, plate and cutlery set per person, plus 10 extra sets for trainers and replacements. Keep serving spoons and scissors with the catering supplies rather than at the registration desk.
- Pack registration materials separately: one name badge per participant, team assignment cards, clipboards, pen sets and competition forms. Bring at least two working stopwatches and one whistle per active court.
Frequently asked questions
- How many basketballs do I need for a basketball camp?
- Plan one basketball for every two players during drills, with at least one ball per active court for games. For 20 players, that means 10 balls for stations, plus two or three spare balls if possible.
- How much food and drink should I buy for basketball camp?
- For a full-day camp, plan one main meal, two snack breaks and two to three drinks per person in the first hour, followed by one drink per person per additional hour. Add about 10% extra food and drinks for helpers, trainers and unexpected attendees.
- What equipment should I prepare before basketball camp?
- Check basketballs, training bibs, cones, marker cones, agility ladders, skipping ropes and resistance bands at least 3 to 5 days beforehand. Also test whistles, stopwatches and scoreboards so damaged or missing items can be replaced before camp day.
- How many cups, plates and chairs are needed for a basketball camp?
- Provide one reusable cup, plate and cutlery set per person, plus 10 extra sets. Arrange one chair per seated participant, trainer or helper, and add at least two extra chairs for the registration desk and unexpected needs.
