Archery competition shopping list
Prepare your archery competition with one complete shopping check before event day. You will need competition equipment such as bows, arrows, target faces and stands, plus safety items, scoring supplies and equipment for registration and communication. Plan spare gear rather than relying on a single bow or a full set of arrows. The list also covers practical items that are easy to arrange too late, including barrier tape, safety nets, power strips and printing supplies.

Tips
- Plan at least one spare bow and spare arrows before shopping. A damaged bow or lost arrow should not stop a participant or delay the match schedule.
- Count target faces, target pins and arrow bins against the number of targets and shooting groups. Order or collect replacements before the final material-stock check, not on match morning.
- Prepare safety equipment for the whole range: safety nets, barrier tape and cones should be ready before setup starts. Keep measuring tapes available for checking layouts and distances.
- Set aside a registration desk, tables, chairs and waste bins for the event area. Bring party tents if participants, referees or equipment need cover from changing weather.
- Test laptops, printers, megaphones and walkie-talkies at least one day in advance. Check extension cords and power strips at the same time, and print spare scorecards before participants arrive.
Frequently asked questions
- What equipment do I need for an archery competition?
- Plan bows, spare bows, arrows, spare arrows, target faces, target pins, bow stands and arrow quivers. Add arm guards, finger protectors, safety nets, barrier tape, cones and arrow bins for safe and orderly shooting.
- How many spare arrows should I bring to an archery competition?
- Bring at least one spare arrow per participant as a starting point, then add more if your format uses several shooting ends or arrows may be lost outdoors. Keep the spare arrows clearly separated and ready before registration closes.
- When should I prepare the archery competition shopping list?
- Finish the first stock check at least 2 weeks before the match. Buy or rent missing equipment early enough to test it, and complete the final shopping check 1 day before the competition.
- What do I need for scoring and registration at an archery competition?
- Prepare a registration desk, laptops, a printer, scorecards and copied score sheets, plus tables and chairs. Keep spare paper and printed forms ready, and test the printer and communication equipment at least 1 day beforehand.
