Tips

Buy or allocate at least one pair of eye protection and one pair of hearing protection per participant, with 10% spare if attendance is above 20 people. Keep extra earplugs available for anyone who forgets their own protection.
Prepare at least one target and one target holder for each active shooting position, plus replacement targets and adhesive discs for scoring or repairs. Confirm the number of positions after the ranges have been inspected.
Mark every range boundary and movement route with cones, bollards or safety tape before participants arrive. Have enough course markings to make restricted areas visible from the registration table and every firing position.
Use one walkie-talkie for each supervisor or range official, and keep a megaphone available for instructions heard across the venue. Charge all radios, phone chargers and timing equipment the day before the competition.
