Print workshop shopping list: design and print

Use this shopping list to prepare a hands-on design and print workshop without discovering missing supplies on the day. Each participant needs space to sketch, carve, ink and print, plus access to shared presses, rollers and drying racks. Buy or gather paper in more than one size, protective clothing and table coverings before setup begins. Tips

Plan one complete carving and printing station per participant, then add at least 10% extra pencils, erasers, gloves and paper for breakages, mistakes and late arrivals.
Buy enough A4 printing paper for at least 5–8 prints per person, plus A3 paper if participants will make larger designs. Keep paper drying sheets ready between layers and finished prints.
Check that every hand press, ink roller, ink tray and carving gouge set is available and working at least 24 hours before the workshop; replacement equipment is harder to find on the morning itself.
Protect every work table with protective film before placing out linoleum blocks, cutting mats and ink. Keep painter’s tape and adhesive tape nearby for securing coverings, labels and paper.
Prepare refreshments and packing supplies before participants arrive: reusable cups, plates, cutlery, serving platters and coffee equipment should be clean, while packing envelopes should match the number of participants plus at least 10 extra.
