What to buy and bring for a golf camp
A golf camp needs more than clubs and golf balls. You will need practice equipment, scorekeeping supplies, food and drink gear, seating, storage and shelter for the full programme. Plan quantities around the number of participants, groups and nights away. Check every golferβs equipment before arrival, then pack supplies by day so reception, camping, meals and course sessions can be set up without searching through boxes.

Tips
- Plan one complete golf equipment set per player where possible, plus at least 10% extra golf balls and tees for practice and lost balls. Label clubs and storage crates before participants arrive.
- Give each group its own scoreboards, waterproof score sleeves and stopwatches. For a group of four, prepare four score sleeves and one stopwatch; keep one spare set at reception.
- Provide two reusable cups per participant for a day programme, and allow one mug per person for hot drinks. Pack coolers and thermos flasks separately so drinks are ready before the first course session.
- For overnight camps, match cooking equipment to the meal plan: use at least one large pot and one cooking stove per hot dish prepared at the same time. Bring storage bins with lids for leftovers and dry supplies.
- Set aside enough seating and cover for the whole group, not just the reception desk. Count one chair per seated participant, and check the weather forecast before deciding how many party tents are needed.
Frequently asked questions
- How many golf balls and tees do I need for a golf camp?
- Allow at least 10 golf balls and 10 tees per participant for a full day of practice and play. Add 10% extra if beginners are attending or the programme includes repeated driving and short-game sessions.
- What golf equipment does each participant need?
- Each participant needs access to golf clubs, golf balls, tees and a golf glove. If equipment is shared, prepare one labelled set per group and bring at least one spare glove and club set for urgent replacements.
- How many cups and plates should I bring to golf camp?
- Bring two reusable cups and one reusable plate per participant for a day, plus 10% spare. For an overnight camp, add one mug per person and enough reusable cutlery for the largest meal served at once.
- When should I pack the golf camp shopping and equipment?
- Finish shopping and equipment checks at least 2 days before arrival. Pack materials by day the evening before departure, then do a final count of clubs, balls, tees, food containers and cooking equipment on the morning of transport.
