Golf Birthday shopping list
A golf birthday needs more than clubs and a cake. Plan food and drinks for the time before and after the round, plus tableware, shade and a way to keep score. Check your golf equipment early: clubs, balls and tees are easy to overlook when guests bring different skill levels. This list also covers the less obvious extras, such as coolers, serving utensils, pencils, power banks and tablecloth clips.

Tips
- Plan two to three drinks per person for the first hour, then one drink per person for each additional hour. Chill them before guests arrive and keep a separate cooler near the buffet.
- Allow one reusable plate, bowl, glass and cutlery set per guest, plus 10% extra for dropped or misplaced items. Set out coffee cups separately if cake or coffee follows the round.
- Count the available golf clubs, balls and tees at least one week before the birthday. Arrange extra clubs early if the group is larger than the equipment you already have.
- Prepare one scorecard and one pencil for every player, with a few spare pencils and scorecards. Marker cones and golf towels should be placed with the equipment before the start time.
- Set up tables, chairs and parasols before guests arrive, and secure tablecloths with clips outdoors. Test the Bluetooth speaker, extension cords and rechargeable power banks at least one day ahead.
