Football Camp Shopping List
A football camp needs more than footballs and cones. You also need enough drinks, serving supplies, spare equipment and practical items for registration, changing rooms and the dining area. Use the confirmed attendance count to work out quantities, then add a small buffer for damaged, lost or shared items. Buy chilled drinks and perishable food as close to the camp as possible, while equipment, cups and printed materials can be prepared several days ahead.

Tips
- Plan at least one football for every 6β8 players, plus 2β3 spare balls for a full camp day. Check pumps and spare balls before loading the equipment so a puncture does not stop a session.
- Provide roughly 2β3 drinks per participant for the first four hours, and keep extra water available during outdoor sessions. Chill drinks the night before and use coolers where players cannot reach a fridge.
- Prepare one reusable cup per participant, plus 10% extra for lost or misplaced cups. For a shared meal, allow one plate and one cutlery set per person, with another 10% kept aside as backup.
- Pack at least one whistle for each coach or referee and enough cones to mark every field and activity area at the same time. Count mini goals, ladders, cone poles and vests against the match schedule rather than buying only for the largest game.
- Set aside the items people often remember too late: phone chargers, extension cords, power strips, first-aid supplies and consent or medical information at registration. Test speakers and charging equipment at least one day before the camp.
Frequently asked questions
- How many footballs do I need for a football camp?
- Allow one football for every 6β8 players for drills, then add 2β3 spare balls for the whole camp. For 40 players, that means about 7β10 working balls in total, depending on the number of simultaneous activities.
- How many drinks should I buy for a football camp?
- For a four-hour camp, budget 2β3 drinks per participant for the first four hours, with additional water during hot weather or intense training. For 40 participants, start with 80β120 drinks and adjust for staff and weather.
- When should I buy supplies for a football camp?
- Buy equipment, cups, serving items and decorations 3β7 days before the camp. Buy chilled drinks and other perishable food the day before, then chill the drinks overnight.
- What should I bring to a football camp besides sports equipment?
- Bring coolers, reusable cups, plates, cutlery, pouring jugs, serving trays and dining supplies, as well as chargers, extension cords and power strips. Keep registration materials, medical information and first-aid supplies ready before participants arrive.
