What to Bring for a Flyboarding Session

A flyboarding session needs more than the board itself. Plan one helmet, life jacket, wetsuit and pair of water shoes per participant, then add dry storage, towels and waterproof phone protection for the group. You will also need a simple refreshments setup for before or after the water time, including chilled drinks, reusable cups and serving supplies. Check with the instructor which safety equipment and flyboard sets are provided before buying or transporting anything.

Tips

  • Pack one towel, dry bag and waterproof phone pouch per participant, plus at least two spare towels for unexpected delays or wet clothing. Keep phones and dry clothes separate from the equipment area.
  • Allow one reusable cup per person and prepare at least two drinks per participant for a short session, with extra water if people will wait or travel afterward. Chill the drinks before departure rather than on arrival.
  • Use storage crates to separate helmets, gloves, water shoes and personal belongings. Label the crates before loading so equipment can be checked quickly when you reach the water location.
  • Charge the waterproof camera, phones and power banks the night before. Bring waterproof walkie-talkies only if the venue or instructor requires communication away from the reception point.
  • Take a cutting board, chef’s knife, serving utensils and a dishpan if you are serving snacks on site. Pack plates and cutlery only when the food needs them; simple finger food can reduce setup and washing time.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to bring to a flyboarding session?
Bring swimwear or a wetsuit, water shoes, a towel, dry clothes and a waterproof way to store your phone. For the group, also pack drinks, snacks, dry bags and any equipment the instructor has not included.
How many towels do I need for flyboarding?
Plan one beach towel per participant and bring at least two extra towels for a group of up to 10 people. Add more if participants may do multiple water sessions or travel home in wet clothing.
Do I need to buy a helmet and life jacket for flyboarding?
Usually, the operator supplies the helmet, life jacket and flyboard equipment, but confirm this before the session. Ask at least 3 to 5 days in advance whether participants must bring or hire any safety gear.
How much water and how many snacks should I pack?
Pack at least 1 litre of water per participant for the full outing, plus 1 to 2 easy snacks each. Bring extra portions for anyone who must wait through registration, safety checks or changing time.
