Tips
- Prepare one measuring ruler, landing net and fish-friendly measuring bag for each active competition lane, then keep at least two complete spare sets at the judges’ table.
- Set up the weighing table with scales, fish boxes, buckets of water and undocking mats before the first briefing. Test the scales with a known weight and keep spare batteries or power available.
- Bring at least one walkie-talkie for the lead organiser, each judge and the registration desk. Add a megaphone if participants will be spread along the bank or across several lanes.
- Order buoys and barrier tape early enough to mark every lane, restricted area and safe access route. Pack waterproof storage boxes so score sheets, competition cards and electronics stay dry.
- Count reusable drinking cups, tables and chairs for participants, judges and catering separately. Party tents are easy to overlook, so arrange enough covered space for registration and scoring if rain is possible.
