What you need for an animal bingo event

An animal bingo event needs more than bingo cards and prizes. Plan materials for registration, drawing animals, marking cards and recording scores, plus enough tableware, snacks and drinks for your group. You will also need a clear welcome point and a separate prize table. Buy or gather disposable items, refreshments and decorations early; printing cards, chilling drinks and checking the sound system are easy to leave until the last day.

Tips

  • Prepare one bingo card and a pen for every player, then add at least 10% extra cards and pens for late arrivals or damaged materials.
  • For a one-hour event, allow two to three drinks per person for the first hour, plus coffee, tea and water. Chill the drinks at least 4 hours before guests arrive.
  • Set aside one table for bingo cards and reception, and another for prizes. This prevents queues at the entrance and keeps winners from blocking the drawing area.
  • Buy prizes before printing the final round information, and prepare at least one prize for each planned winning round. Keep a few small backup prizes available for ties.
  • Test the microphone, speaker, laptop, extension cords and power strips at least 1 day beforehand. Place cables where visitors cannot trip over them.
